Taoist Chinese Medicine

Practiced for over 1700 years, Fengyang traditional Chinese medicine was developed by Dong Feng (220-280 AD). As practitioners today, we follow the same high standards of holistic healing techniques focused on the patient.

My Story:

Hello, my name is Andrea. I am a licensed acupuncturist in the State of Connecticut and a Certified Fengyang Qigong Associate Instructor. My journey with Chinese Medicine began over 20 years ago when I was first introduced to Tai Chi and Qigong. These beautiful arts inspired me to leave a 12 year career in Special Education to go deeper into the heart of Chinese Medicine and begin a new career as an acupuncturist. Tai Chi and Qigong are the foundation of my Chinese Medicine practice as well as my own personal healing. They allow me to providing patients with effective tools to participate in their own healing.

I am currently continuing my Tai Chi and Qigong training with Dr. Wu, and the story of how I learned about him brings me joy and laughter every day. I had been living in a new neighborhood for a couple of months when I was out for a walk one day. Just as I was nearing home, I saw a little dog in the middle of the road. I had not formally met the neighbors across the street but I knew the dog lived there. He was friendly and followed me back through the gate to his house. I knocked on the door and was greeted by Margaret. We had an instant connection and when I motioned toward the dog and explained how I found him in the road, she laughed and said, “Oh that’s Shen.” I wasn’t sure if I heard her correctly. “You mean like Shen in Chinese, like in Chinese Medicine?” That is exactly what she meant. I told her I was an acupuncturist and Qigong teacher and she told me all about Dr. Ming Wu, how he had been her doctor for over 20 years and how she had trained with him in Traditional Taoist Chinese Medicine. Spirit certainly works in mysterious ways. Shen greeted me in the road and brought me to Margaret who brought me to Dr. Wu.

I offer community style acupuncture at Wu Healing Center in West Hartford, CT (beginning January 2024) as well as Qigong classes and private acupuncture at Qi Ville in Collinsville, CT. I look forward to sharing these wonderful healing arts with you!
